Course Organization

During their studies, postgraduate students are required to attend postgraduate courses, participate in laboratory exercises, carry out research, and prepare a thesis.

The total number of courses in the program that graduate students must attend is six (6): three (3) courses in the first semester corresponding to thirty (30) credits and three (3) courses in the second semester which correspond to thirty (30) credits. In each of the first two semesters, students are required to choose three courses from a pool of six courses of equal weight (10 credits) each to complete the 30 credits. of each semester. In the last two semesters, postgraduate students must carry out research in a specialized field and write a thesis corresponding to sixty (60) credits. One hundred and twenty (120) credits are required to obtain the MPhil.

Modification of the course program and redistribution between semesters may occur with decisions of the competent bodies and with reference to the regulation of postgraduate studies.

The Master's Thesis (MT) is the culmination of the student's postgraduate studies and the proof of the knowledge and skills obtained from the PSP. The MT must be a combination of bibliographic or empirical research study and application/software development that is built on a specific epistemological framework, uses proven research methods and is supervised by a program instructor.

All MTs are presented publicly. The details of drafting, delivery, presentation and evaluation of the MT are defined by a decision of the Coordinating Committee (CC). The Master's Thesis is publicly supported before a three-member examination committee, appointed by the Coordinating Committee (CC) of the PSP and in which the supervisor and two (2) other teachers participate.
